I am enjoying playing with my new hat designs. I have loved the bobbles on my classic Baba knits hats and wanted to make a fresh design. Simplicity in color and bobbles = simple joy in knitting. Little mister Atticus modeled the cream and lime hat for me on one of our late knit nights.

Voting is happening across the country as we speak. These are interesting times. Meanwhile I continue to knit and get ready for my holiday offerings of handknit hats, gloves and all things wooly. I’ll be posting soon more information on that. Until then – don’t forget to vote today!

Falling back into it…

It has been awhile since I have updated. As much as I try this is not a habit for me to do this blogging thing. And yet, here I am back at it. Maybe it is the fall again. I have knit all through the summer but it is in the cooler days of the year that I find myself knitting by the fire in my front room. Our household has been changing with visitors. My son, his wife and the grandchildren have been here this summer. My niece just came out to visit. And for the moment my mother is now living with us.

On the knitting front I have just finished a beautiful bonnet-scarf from Knit Two Together. It is in a lovely pear green. Here are pictures of Hillary and Meredy modeling the finished product.

It has been a full house over here as the girls and boy visit from Japan. There has been much laughter, visiting, good food and conversation and running about and we are having the time of our life. Here are a few pics….

I am in the midst of jam jam jam! It reminds me of this little book called Jamberry by Bruce Degen. The jams are a mainstay to my pantry and also I love to share them. I have been making jam for my cupboards and also helping some of my friends learn the art. The latest batches have been blueberry jam! So delicious!!!

I am mostly in the garden this season but almost each week this last year the women have gathered into my house and we have communed and knit together. Truly it has become a little bit of joy in the week.

Can you imagine being completely satiated on fresh Dungeness Crab. Well, let me say that it is one of my favorite ways to be. What a delightful evening, friends sharing in delicious food and great conversation.
